Things To Remember

1. During the day, everything that is associated with the drive-in is free.  Soft drinks, hot dogs, hamburgers and cheeseburgers.

2.  Any additional food, salads, side dishes, desserts, etc are not provided by the drive-in.  Those folks that are interested in bringing any such items are welcome to.  We ask that if you are going to do this, that you let us know so that we can keep track and we don't end up with a dozen different types of potato salad.

3. If anyone wants alcoholic beverages, they can buy them on their own as there is a beer store not far from the drive-in.  In this past, this has worked fine with a few people making that their 'contribution' towards the day.

4. Remember your games and sports equipment.  There are horseshoes and most people bring their ball gloves and bats for a game of softball or a football to throw around.  The drive-in field is mostly grass, so it is friendly to play on compared to gravel.

5. Because of insurance, people are unable to sleep over or 'camp out' at the drive-in after the shows are over.  There is plenty of reasonably priced lodging in the area if you want a room to get some sleep before heading home.  This is what a number of people have done in the past, either get a room, or find a campsite over in Cook Forest State Park which is about 18 miles up the road on Route 36.

6. We encourage everyone to bring their families, spouses, significant others, etc.  This is not specifically about the alumni, but about families first and foremost.  Please remember that there will be young children about.

7. Plan on bringing a beach chair or folding chair of some type if you plan on staying for the movies.  It's more fun to sit around with everyone outside your cars watching the movie in a group, then separated and cramped in our cars.  A portable radio will also help to hear the movies as drive-in speakers for the cars are no longer supplied.

8. Finally, remember we are guests.  The drive-in is how Jim makes his living.  Have fun and enjoy yourself, but also please respect his business and his patrons once the drive-in starts operating in the evening.
